10th anniversary of Selena Quintanilla's passing away...

By an odd coincidence, I noticed that a friend of mine on Yahoo! Messenger had part of the lyrics of Selena Quintanilla's song, Dreaming of You in his status... While we were talking a bit about her and the song, I pulled up an article about her at Wikipedia to read and a bit of a while passed by before I gradully took note that it has been exactly 10 years since she passed away!

Well, it's been one heck of a coincidence... She'll be missed...

Dreaming of You
Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I stay up and think of you
And I wish on a star that somewhere you are
Thinking of me too
Cause I’m dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Than here in my room dreaming about you and me

Wonder if you ever see me and I
Wonder if you know I’m there (am I there, am I? )
If you looked in my eyes would you see what’s inside
Would you even care?
I just wanna hold you close but so far
All I have are dreams of you
So I wait for the day (wait for the day)
To take the courage to say how much I love you
Yes I do

I’ll be dreaming of you tonight
Till tomorrow, I’ll be holding you tight
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Than here in my room dreaming about you and me

Corazón
No puedo dejar de pensar en ti
Como te necesito
Mi amor, como te extraño
(translation:
Sweetheart
I can’t stop thinking of you
How I need you
My love, how I miss you)

Late at night when all the world is sleeping
I stay up and think of you
And I still can’t believe
That you came up to me and said I love you
I love you too

Now I’m dreaming with you tonight
Till tomorrow (till tomorrow) and for all of my life
And there’s nowhere in the world I’d rather be
Than here in my room
Dreaming with you endlessly

Day three and LifeLogger

Left out blogging for the past few days but I've just gotta blog something about the last day of the competition, or tournament, or whatever, I'm not that sure anyway... =P

So, more pics from the LifeLogger Moblog:

^ Bi Cheng on the left and Chin Yuen on the right before the last game starts... BI Cheng got 8th place while Chin Yuen got second...

And guess what? I got first! xD Oh man, I've been waiting for this for a long time already, I got third for three and two years ago but practically gave away points for last year! Well, this year is probably my last for me, as I don't think I want to study there again for Form 6 next year... As for Chin Yuen, I've spoiled his planned treble of Chinese chess individual, team and Western chess individual catagories... xD Hm... I'm not very sure where the trophies are, but I'm sure that I'll be getting them later in school... It'd be pretty odd not to give away then.. o_O

Heheh, I've been fiddling around with LifeLogger for a few days now and taking some pics, turns out that the camera isn't actually that bad! I've just got to see the larger pics with IE since it just appears as a whole string of mangled code with Firefox... Anyway, I've made a few buddies there and it's been interesting reading and posting messages like those that you leave at Tagboards... =)

Ack, school's reopening again on Monday, results of exams will made known to the class, will need to shave hair again because they plan to inspect it on that day, and that day is also the day that they will be taking class shots for the school's annual yearbook...

Sigh, holiday homework is beckoning... x_X

Moblog of the chess tournament

Hahah, took my SE T230 phone and the old T310's external CommuniCam and snapped this pics at today's chess competition...

Photos uploaded through DiGi's Lifelogger! (I don't have a USB cable yet) Though it's a great service, I still think that RM0.70 per snap is still a bit expensive... Hope that the charge does go down soon...I wanna take more pics! =P Btw, my profile at here, if anyone's interested in knowing...

Ah, the game? Well, our team nearly reached the one of the prize winning positions but we fell short, unfortunately... Record was 2-1, 2-1, 0-3, 3-0, 3-0 and we didn't made the cut... But nevermind, there's always tomorrow! =P

Chess tournament for tomorrow...

Tomorrow (or should I actually say today) I'll be competing in the school's Chinese Chess team tournament. First of all, wish me luck (again). I'll be partnered with my sparring mate and two of his friends. Hope we'll be able to pull the rug under the favourites. =P

Today was the individual competition but I didn't participated in it. Besides, me playing with only 5 hours of sleep? Heck no! I'll be as good as gone by the first few rounds.

One of the first sights that irked me was the fella who walked around with a Bluetooth headset attatched to his ear. I mean, if it's a businessman and calls equate to money, it's definitely understandable but if it's just a Form 3 student, that's just plain showoff.

I've made it a point to not be so nice around the people from the chess club. Heh, after 4 years of being nice and what did I get? Another thud to the ground, same as the sack of potatoes mentioned earlier. Whoo-yeah, ignore them bastards. But then I take back some of what I've said about several of them some time ago. I noticed that at least 2 of them were actually better than what I thought they were. I'm glad that they are.

Signing off, at 1:06 am in the morning!

I'm back!

Little post of miscellaneous thoughts from the past few days:

Locked out of Streamyx yesterday because of outstanding bills (damn it) but I got my parents to pay it at the bank today...

The "please hold on" song on Telekom has a good beat but seriously, they could've choosed a better song... =P

After listening to Enigma's album for roughly 20-30 time, I've finally grown to love it!

I feel that I'm jinxing myself for each and everytime I say that I'm going to do something soon. If you force me to say that, you can be sure that it's the last thing you're going to hear from it... xD

This year I've noticed how annoying some people have become... If only they could realise how annoying they are... Egad, ARE YOU BLIND OR WHAT, MY STATUS IS "BE RIGHT BACK", SO STOP NUDGING ME!!! Seriously, it just one little thing by little thing, I'm going to explode at him soon (scrap the "jinxing" thing, this is top priority)

I can't help like feeling like I'm a tool of somesort, especially for English-related stuff... You pull your chair up to my table before the English paper start to ask me English questions, and then unload me like a sack of potatoes when it is all over... I've gotta settle this issue with you...

To everyone:
Thanks for leaving a comment in my previous post when I was gone... Thanks guys! =)

Penang Mensa branch...

Every once and again in a little section in page 2 of The Star's StarMetro (North) section, there is an announcement about an IQ test organised by the Penang branch of Mensa Malaysia. And then take a look at the last sentence of the little announcement that has been there for the past few years: "All applicants must be 14 years old and above."

You know who caused this little clause to be inserted there? It was me.

Back in 2001 when I was 13 years old, I think I saw the announcement and for inexplicable reasons (actually I forgot) in The Star, I went ahead and took the test. From what I can remember, it was a Sunday morning, went along with mom, aunt took me there, the place was at the Kompleks Penyayang (Caring Complex, at least I think that's how it's named) and the test itself was far from impressive.

Okay, there was this group of people, men and women, adults and err... actually I was the youngest person there, apart from a boy who was a few years my senior. There was also a reported who was covering the test but I didn't really notice it until I saw the photo and the article published in one of the Chinese papers.

So, about the test. The registration fee was RM50 and I can confidently say that the way the UPSR exams were presented could be considered to be way better than what the IQ test was when I took it. Hm... the questions were like the ones you could find in a Mensa book, logical, mathematical and all of that crap (some I haven't even learned yet) and guess what the parting souvenir was? A little box that holds little pieces of coloured paper. What a waste of RM50.

And roughly a couple of months after the test, there was a reply from Mensa saying that I had passed the test and was eligible to become part of the group! Yeah, that and that the annual members fee was another RM50. Whoop-dee-doo. I still kept the letter and the newspaper article but I'm not so sure where is it exactly now. It's now 4 years later and things might be different for a person taking the test, or it still might be the same. Whatever it is, I still feel that the whole thing was more alike a scam to rip off RM100 per person. I know I got ripped off RM50, I know I could've got ripped off another RM50, and I know I'm not that smart.
